Water Fun in October

Water play is one of the kids favorite things to do when we are at home on the weekend.   It's even been chilly on some of the days but that doesn't stop them.  Today the slip-in-slide broke, I tried to reassure them that water play is almost over until the spring.   Harper and Hadlee  have learned to tie balloons so water balloon play has been in full force.

Car washing is fun.

Turkeyfest Weekend

We started our weekend with a day off from school.  We had big plans but the kids woke up on Friday begging for a morning at home.   We headed to Victoria to stay the night at Mema and Papa's house.   The kids kept talking about there hotel they were staying at because they knew Mema and Papa were out of town.
We started our evening with a little kickball action then ended with a slumber party with Hannah.  At 1 something, I went and told the kids it was bedtime.  In true Hays style, he was up at the crack of dawn, going to the road to get the newspaper.   He then made a bowl of cereal, such a creature of habit.

Less than 7 hours of sleep could make for some grumpy kiddos but not when Hannah is around!

And we are headed to the Turkeyfest parade!

Nana and Aunt Sue got our spot early so we could our usual spot.   A little rain never hurt anyone.

After the parade, it was carnival time.   This year it was lots of rides and Nana treated the kids to all the fun games.   We are now proud owners of Duck Dynasty, Taylor Swift and Hello Kitty framed posters, among lots of other fun stuff.

Spurs Game

The kids went to the AT&T center twice in one week.  The first was for the grant awarding ceremony and two days later for a preseason game against Moscow.  A bonus to the grant is the kids will get free tickets to the games.
Our tickets were high up in the stands.

R.I.P. Coffee

Monday morning at 5:15, I took Dog out for a walk and saw Coffee in the street.   She wasn't moving and my only thought was the flea medicine that I put on her Sunday night had hurt her.  It didn't look good so I woke up Wade and he found out that she had been ran over by a car.   I leave for work at 6:30 and he had her buried in the vacant lot before the kids could see laying in the street.

We had a funeral for her after school.

October the First Week

We took Dog to the park.

"Tyson" must have got away and he's become a regular in our front yard.

The girls were in the homecoming parade and pep rally.

Carson came to watch Hays' baseball game.

I snapped this picture before bed on Saturday.   All three actually reading and not playing.

Our neighbors will soon be gone.

They are getting rid of four houses, including the crack house!

We enjoyed our self guided tour of the houses.

The kids got to go to the AT&T center on Monday.   Their class received a grant for Cooking in the classroom.
